The rally on October 7 dedicated to World Day for Decent Work (WDDW), held in the Minsk Park of Friendship, was attended by the representatives of metropolitan and regional union activists of all the four BKDP affiliates:  Belarusian Independent Trade Union (BNP), Free Trade Union of Belarus (SPB), Free Trade Union of Metalworkers (SPM) and the Belarusian Radio & Electronic Industry Workers’ Union (REP). The most numerous was the delegation of Soligorsk miners - members of Independent Miners’ Union (NPG) at OAO "Belaruskaly" Company. It was the first time in six years that the BKDP has received permission from the authorities to hold a rally on October 7.

This year's World Day for Decent Work took place under the general slogan: «End Corporate GREED!". The BKDP leader Alexander Yaroshuk addressing the rally participants said that "The most dangerous corporation in Belarus is the state of Belarus itself ". He stressed that «in a number of enterprises, especially in provinces, the salaries and wages of workers and employees do not exceed  100 USD per month, that is 10 times less than has been  promised by the regime few years ago."
The rally participants in the adopted resolution demanded from the authorities “immediately to develop a new economic policy that could solve the problems of employment, job creation, significant increase in salaries and wages, updating the production facilities”. In addition, members of independent unions insisted “on abolition of the four notorious presidential decree (№ 29, №9, №5, №3), insulting workers’ dignity and making it impossible to achieve decent work in our country”.
