BKDP AND CONFEDERATION OF LABOUR OF RUSSIA SIGNED AGREEMENT ON JOINT COOPERATION. BKDP LEADER ALEXANDER YAROSHUK MET SERGEI MIRONOV – SPEAKER OF RUSSIAN DUMA FEDERATION COUNCIL



February 20 the BCDTU leader Alexander Yaroshuk took part in a “Roundtable” conference organized by the Confederation of Labor of Russia (KTR) in Kaliningrad. The topic of the event "Human rights and trade union solidarity" found response and provoked lively discussion among the representatives of the KTR affiliates: Federation of Trade Unions of Russia, Small and medium-sized businesses workers’ union “Justice”, Federal Union Air-traffic controllers, Russian Sailors Union, " Teacher " Interregional Union of Education, Russian Trade Union of Dockers, the “Solidarity” Trade Union. The roundtable was also attended by State Duma deputies including Oleg Shein Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Labor and Social Policy.

The turning point of the roundtable was the signing the Cooperation Agreement by the KTR Chairman Igor Kovalchuk and by the BKDP President Alexander Yaroshuk. The representatives of two fraternal Independent unions of Belarus and Russia have identified priorities for cooperation. Among the priorities are the mutual assistance and support in advocating rights and interests of workers and basic trade union rights in their own countries, monitoring and exchange of information on labor market, employment and migration of labor force, etc. The establishment of the exclusive nature of relationship between KTR and BKDP is proved and confirmed by the fact that the Cooperation Agreement is not limited by validity terms.

"Signing of Cooperation Agreement between the KTR and BKDP became key news, which was widely discussed during a meeting of the roundtable participants with the Speaker of the Council of Federation Sergey Mironov," - says the leader of BKDP Alexander Yaroshuk. “Speaker of the Federation Council agreed with me that there comes a time when the role of the locomotive in the development of integration processes between our countries and nations should be assumed by the civil society. Undoubtedly, the most active and organized part of it are the trade unions of Russia and Belarus. Sergei Mironov evaluated the signing of the Agreement as an inspiring example for all who are sincerely interested in giving a positive dynamics in the development of Russian-Belarusian relations. "
